The Computer Industry Almanac has reported that by the year 2002, 490 million people around the world will have Internet access, that is 79.4 per 1,000 people worldwide, and 118 people per 1,000 by year-end 2005.

In the US alone more than 110 million people are now online, which is nearly 43% of the 259 million worldwide users. The number of US households with Internet access will nearly double to 90 million by the end of 2004, according to a report by The Strategis Group.

There has never been a better time to be in the business of providing Internet services than right now. Just as little 12 years ago a similar opportunity presented itself in the Cellular Telephone market. Today wireless communications is a multibillion dollar industry.
